So I’m having trouble laying down my thesis for the project in a succinct and elegant way… I’m basically trying to express a sense of migration in artists work… how past experiences, emotions and lessons inform the decisions we make to shape and change our lives. How process is more important than the outcome, because there is a sense of discovery there that leads you to grow as an artist… something like that. But I can’t word it eloquently. Help? Here are possible quotes I’ve come up with so far:
“The desire to inflict change is driven by the passion to create.”
“Experiences, emotions and lessons inform the desire to change and shape our lives. Process leads to discovery for the passion to create.”
“Process is the pathway to discovery that leads to the passion to create.” (make this one less wordy and run-on sentence-y…)
“Design is the desire to create things that make sense.”
“The greatest ideas are constructed by the desire to feel.”
“Change is enlightenment.”
“Change does not create out of voice, but out of chaos.”
“Mistakes are the portals of discovery.” - James Joyce (but I don’ want to use a quote that has already been authored…(
“Creation’s most honest and complete presence does not mask the trials of artistic process.”
“Honest creation is not masked by the artistic process.”
I’m kind of stuck… but you get the basic idea I’m trying to get at… I’m not the most poetic type, so any advice or spin-offs of these “quotes” I’ve made would be greatly appreciated.
The ones bolded are the ones I think are the most appropriate.
ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE ANY OF THE QUOTES SOUND BETTER WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
